The water is scummy or greasy: The most common reason for this is that you've recently had a large number of swimmers. The oils in our skin can cause water problems. You should, however, read the labels of any products you use to clear up the scum problems, as some are not made for salt water systems.

Grayish build up on the tiles of the pool: To clean salt water pool systems, it is important to continuously look for calcium build up, which can happen if the water is hard. This build up will occur in the pool's pump and filter, as well as along the pool's tiles. You can find commercial products to take care of the problem, but remember that you need to treat the water as well. Otherwise, the calcium will clog up the system and cause problems.
